Special interests

Andre has a special interest in upper and lower urinary tract robotic surgery including robotic prostatectomy, cystectomy, partial nephrectomy, and urogenital reconstruction. Andre is one of the few Urologists in Australia who performs Retzius sparing prostatectomy for improved early return of urinary continence.

Robotic Radical Prostatectomy (RARP)

Robotic radical prostatectomy is a minimally invasive operation to treat prostate cancer by removing the prostate.

Nephrectomy

A nephrectomy is an operation to remove a kidney. It is performed to treat kidney cancer and other benign conditons.

Partial Nephrectomy

A partial nephrectomy is an operation to remove a mass from the kidney. It is a treatment for suspected kidney cancer.

Ureteropyeloscopy

A ureteropyeloscopy is a procedure to look inside the ureter and the kidney, by passing a small telescope through the urethra and bladder.

Cystectomy

A cystectomy is a procedure to remove the urinary bladder. After the bladder is removed, the flow of urine is diverted into an ileal conduit or a neobladder.
TRAINING

Education and medical training

After growing up in Singapore and New Zealand, Dr Joshi moved to Australia to complete his formal surgical training across Queensland, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Urology) and the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) in February 2023.

He completed further fellowship training at the EAU Robotic Urology Section (ERUS) accredited training centre of Royal Berkshire Hospital in the UK.

Andre is also a Consultant Urologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hosptial, QEII Jubilee Hospital and the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS).

In his spare time, Andre enjoys spending time with his family.
